Practical Course Prof. Dr. Hanspeter Saluz
Cell- and Molecular Biology
Practical course on rapid heatblock thermocycling of small
samples in miniaturized ultrathin-walled microplates.
In this practical course we will use a novel rapid cycling
technology based on ultrathin-walled multiwell plates combined
with a rapid Peltier-driven heat-block thermal cycler. The
technique combines the advantages of rapid cycling, like
considerably increased quality of reactions, with the advantages
of conventional cyclers, e.g. simple sample handling. We will
perform some single-primer and two-primer DNA fingerprinting
techniques as well as sequencing reactions in an attempt to
reduce reaction times as much as possible.
